Chances are you haven’t put away some of the Christmas gifts you received simply because you haven’t found a place for them.  Donate some of the items you no longer want or need.  Here are a few places that use your donations to help others.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories and building materials.  They sell these items to the public at a fraction of the retail price.  The money made on your cast-offs can be used to help build a home for someone.  ReStore Locations

Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, among other things, to help women thrive in work and in life.  Remember how confident you felt in that suit, but you never wear it anymore?           Dress For Success Donations

Wheeler Mission is always on the lookout for gently worn, sturdy shoes and boots.  They have drop-off locations around Indianapolis that will accept gently used clothing, socks, coats and footwear.  Wheeler Mission Drop-Off Locations

These are just a few ideas on how to use your excess blessings to help others.

Here’s the assignment – grab a sack or cardboard box and set your timer for 10 minutes.  Walk through your closet and other areas of your home that need de-cluttered.  Quickly place those items in the container that no longer serve your needs.  Take a picture of your treasures and let us know where you donated them.

Happy New Year!
